Buick's lineup could be in for a big of a shake up, and we here at Roper buick GMC are quite excited! While the edgy style of models like the Buick Regal always manage to capture out attention like no other, Buick is looking to add some more diversity to their lineup in order to appeal to a wider audience.

And, just how is Buick planning to do this? The American automaker is seeking to add some compact models to their lineup to keep up with today's trends. These two new models will be featured alongside already popular redesigned models like the Buick LaCrosse, and they're already taking the automotive world by storm.

The first of the two new Buick models is the Buick Verano. This compact sedan is set to make a 2012 model-year debut. It will feature either a 2.0 or a 2.4-liter engine under the hood, and it will also reportedly come with a version of the eAssist mild hybrid system by the end of the 2012 model-year. Sharing a platform with the already popular Chevrolet Cruze, the Verano could also have a turbocharged variant under development.

Buick's other compact offering is a bit more of a mystery. See, GM has been interested in porting the Astra to the United States for some time, and the newest claim is that the Astra could be heading here under a Buick badge. While GM or Buick have yet to confirm this 100 percent, it is looking highly likely that the American automaker's second compact offering will be an Astra.
